Toronto-based artist Beauty In The Riot explores Jazz, Pop, and R&B sounds through her music. Her delivery is every bit classic as it is unique. Growing up in an artistic family Beauty's late father was a musician "Haydain Neale of Jacksoul" and her mother in film. Both of these influences have become a major part of her adult life with one of her goals to place music for film and television. Beauty says that she is,
"Shaped by tragedy and defined by perseverance."
She tried to walk away but music has always been her medicine. Inspired by the world around her Beauty says some of her best songs are written while she is washing dishes. I for one hope she never uses the dishwasher again. We need more Beauty in our lives.
Weak In The Knees, is Beauty's latest release that will get stuck in your head. Not only did she co-produce this record the versatility of Beauty's talent continues to be seen with the debut of her self-directed visual. The catchy choreography and edgy cinematography show how comfortable Beauty is in front of and behind the camera. If you aren't already keeping your eye on her you should start. With her work ethic, motivation, and talent it's just a matter of time before she becomes another Toronto staple.
