KNG JMZ is building music for people who have been overlooked, underestimated, and still choose to keep going. The Winnipeg artist describes his sound as Motivational Trap: raw lyricism, West Coast and Dirty South energy, lived experience, and motivational intent.

Also known as Jamie Fontaine-Ellis, KNG JMZ is an Afro-Indigenous artist with roots in Sagkeeng First Nation and a Caribbean/Guyanese bloodline. His music is shaped by identity, resilience, discipline, and a desire to encourage others through sound.
His current chapter includes The Greatest, released May 15, 2026, the six-track EP Born Original, released April 17, 2026, and the upcoming two-track EP Two Piece Special, set for June 26, 2026. Together, these records show confidence, commitment, purpose, and a clear sense of artistic direction.

Beyond music, KNG JMZ has also created community impact through the Sound Futures Youth Workshop, which he planned and ran in the community where he grew up. He has also been booked for the Sākihiwē Festival’s Central Park Block Party, earned Indigenous Hip Hop Awards nominations, and received international radio play.
Start with The Greatest, Born Original, and Two Piece Special. Together, they introduce the foundation of KNG JMZ: motivational trap built from struggle, designed for elevation, and made for people still betting on themselves.
