Every Canadian Music Grant With Open Deadlines Right Now (June–August 2026)

Most independent Canadian artists know grants exist. Very few actually apply. The usual reason isn't ineligibility, it's that the information is scattered, the deadlines sneak up, and the application process feels overwhelming without a clear starting point.

This post cuts through all of that. Below is every significant music grant currently open or opening soon across Canada, organized by scope and region. Dollar amounts, deadlines, eligibility, all in one place.

How to Use This List

  1. Identify every program you're eligible for. Don't filter by what feels achievable — filter by the actual eligibility criteria.

  2. Rank by deadline. Anything with a June deadline needs your attention this week.

  3. Know your FACTOR rating. Several programs require a FACTOR Artist 2 or Artist 3 rating. If you don't know yours, check your FACTOR account before you apply.

  4. Apply before your project starts. Most programs, especially Canada Council, will not fund work that has already begun. The application must go in first.

  5. Budget for matching requirements. Most programs cover 50% to 75% of eligible costs. You need to show where the rest is coming from.

  6. One application at a time. Pick the program with the nearest deadline that fits your current project. Complete that one before starting the next.
