Every artist we work with can tell you the difference between a song that's finished and a song that's ready. What most can't tell you is the difference between a career that's active and a career that's actually built to last.
That gap isn't about talent. It's about the business skills nobody teaches you in the studio, the ones that turn one good release into an actual career. That's the gap August Campus is built to close.
This month, Beatcave Campus welcomes Aidan Sykes to lead a four week series on the business of music. Four Tuesday nights, four real skill sets, zero fluff.
Who's Leading The Room
Aidan's path into the industry didn't start behind a desk. He got his start in live event management and production at Maple Leaf Sports + Entertainment, then moved to Dallas to learn the advertising world before bringing that knowledge back home to Toronto.
Back in Toronto, he built his reputation from the ground up, hosting events and consulting for artists, managing indie artist City Fidelia along the way. That work led to a stint as Marketing Manager at Sony Music, and later to Kadence.World, where he helped build out the community agency's venue ops and music division. Eventually he launched his own shop, Allo & Associates, focused on production strategy and cultural consultation for major label clients.
He carries that same commitment into the community. Aidan is a founding board member of Advance Music and a juror for Ontario Creates' music program, an initiative built to invest in new and emerging Black and Indigenous owned music businesses. It's the kind of resume that proves creative talent and business acumen aren't separate skills, they're supposed to grow together.
What August Campus Covers
Four Tuesday nights, 8:30pm ET, on Google Meet. Here's the breakdown.

Week 2, August 11: Networking and Relationship Building. Professional communication, networking strategies, how to build real collaborations, and how to pitch yourself without it feeling like a pitch.
Week 3, August 18: Monetization and Business Skills. Revenue streams in music, pricing and negotiation, financial literacy for creatives, and how to build more than one income stream so your career can survive a slow quarter.
Week 4, August 25: Sustainability and Career Growth. Long term career planning, time management and productivity, burnout prevention, and building a sustainable roadmap that gets you past year one.
